I'm still standing (even though my ankle is sprained)

So I haven't been blogging much because writing about how I've been living in total denial since I've sprained my other ankle isnt really newsworthy. I would like to point out that after several set backs I was finally able to "get it" and stay off my ankle and in the prescribed boot for about three weeks now. I see the Ortho doctor today and he will either clear me of the boot or order several more weeks in it. Wearing one shoe, a dress or heels are virtually futile with this boot. Especially with the show Xanadu opening tonight!
I am excited and hopeful my ankle will hold up tonight. I am getting a session of Physical Therapy (pt) in today too!
The show runs a full month so I pray for the strength to pull through the rehearsals and run.
I am not able to exercise the way I'd like due to my injury but I have been disciplined enough to track my food and water intake in my WW food log and try to move a lot while dancing to get some cardio in. I am maintaining but am still in dire need of toning up and losing those dreaded ten lbs that I set out to lose five months ago when I started this blog. I can't say that I won't be running again but I think that I need to table the 10k goal until I am fully rehabed. I take my exam for work on Monday. The prep class didn't leave me feeling confident that I am guaranteed to pass but I am reviewing content each day and falling asleep in my books after rehearsal each night. I've made peace with it. I will do my best, try not to stress, and take it.
Harvey is coming to see the show on Saturday and is bringing his sister. This will the first time meeting her and his first time seeing me perform. Nervous and excited to see him. We had the last two date cancelled due to his illness and a sick nephew. More to come on the sister meet and greet. Nothing like adding more pressure to a performance night!

Oops I Did It Again!

A coaching colleague of mine just called me out yesterday! I was filling her in on what was going on in the last few months.  I shared that I worked myself into the energy point of no return.  I was burning out.   She quickly pointed out that at the same time last year, I was telling her a similar story about how I hustled so hard I needed to take a break.  She highlighted that it appears that August is the season for slowing down.  But I shouldn't be working so hard until I'm at the brink of burn out AGAIN.   Oops!
